As soon as little T had his Nike running shoes on I knew he was going to be a fast one. :-) Oh and his mom and dad are both really fast on the track so he was destined to be VERY fast! He was so sweet and when he showed me how he could sit then we got some great shots. What I love about my job is being able to capture kids at the stage they are in, that's what you want the images for to remember what they were like at each age and stage of life.

His mom and dad surprised their family and made the trip all the way from Australia and I was so lucky to be one of his stops during his tour of the US. :-) It was obvious that he was born in Australia by his cute clothes and accent (he he) but his MN roots really came through when he busted out his #28 MN Vikings jersey.

Photographer In Minot: The T Family

You know how you have a plan, and then at the very last minute you are forced to change the plan due to something out of your control. Well...that is exactly what happened for us on this session! I had planned to shoot in a field that is so pretty this time of year, well I show up (luckily early!) and they had cut down ALL the long beautiful prairie grass, so I go to my back up location and there was what felt like 100 mph winds! Lucky for me the T family is very laid back and we decided to do it in their back yard, which just happens to be the best location for pictures EVER. Not sure why we didn't think of it first, but it was absolutely perfect, the kids were comfortable and in their element and the whole session was awesome. I am going to just go ahead and say it again...I DO have the best job in the world! :-)

The youngest Miss M kept me on my toes which is why I just had to put the image of her moving because I think it is how she is a lot of the time. ;-)

I met up with the K family down town Minot, by the old train station and am I ever glad we did. The boys loved trains, and especially the youngest. :-) We talked about trains they first few minutes and wouldn't you know a train rolled by. It was loud, but pretty exciting! Watching these two, I can't help but think that my twin sister Heather and I were a lot like them at this age. They were so sweet to one another and totally had that twin connection. LOVED IT! Its been a crazy roller coaster of a summer, but it started out on a really high note. :-) Spencer and his mom and dad came to ND to for a quick weekend vacation. E Session: K + A

This engagement session was postponed due to 40 degrees, rain, and some serious wind. We waited until the next day which gave me a great excuse to hang out with friends in Minneapolis and shop a little. :-) SO, so, so glad we waited, the next day we were able to shoot in perfect light, 65 degrees and beautiful! K + A were amazing, it was so much fun, I think we could have kept shooting all night! I am really looking forward to coming back for their wedding in a month.

Neenah Children's Photographer: 1st Birthday for C!

Its so much fun to watch little ones grow up in front of my lens. I have been photographing this little guy since he was in his mommy's belly. Hard to believe a whole year has gone by. He was seriously perfect for his session. We started outside because FINALLY we had beautiful spring weather. Then we finished up with a cake smashing, which he dominated! Finally his mom and dad had to take the cake away or he literally would have ate the whole cake by the fist full :-)

Mother's Day

Today is a wonderful day to remember all the mom's out there! Happy Mother's Day! I miss my mom every day, but especially on Mother's Day. She was the kindest, most caring person I know. She was the best mother, and grandmother. I hope I can be half the mom she was to us. She will always be in each of our hearts.

Madison Wedding Photographer: D + B

This past weekend I made my way down to Madison, WI to the state capitol grounds, no not to protest ;-) but for the beautiful wedding of D + B. I think all of us had been watching the weather all week to see what was supposed to happen on Saturday. It looked like it was going to be a rainy, wet day, BUT it turned out to be just fine. No rain at all! The day was such a wonderful wedding, the family, and friends of D + B were so amazing. I can't say enough about how wonderful the Bridal Party was to photograph, they were just so kind, easy going and a joy to spend the day with. I am completely honored to have captured their wedding day!!

Fargo Photographer: Five!

I met up with these 5 siblings and their mom while we were en route back to WI. We planned to shoot inside because we just know how ND/MN/WI spring weather has been, BUT lucky for us it was 65 and beautiful! This family is seriously amazing, and they have a super woman for a mom. No I am totally serious she wrangles two sets of twins and a teenager and looks fabulous doing it!

Minot Children's Photographer: Sisters!

This family and ours cross paths in so many ways its crazy! Their mom and I have known each other for-EV-er! I was so happy when I found out we would be able to meet up in Minot over Easter break. This was my first chance to meet the sweet baby and what a blessing she is. Her older sister L has GROWN up into a smart big girl! She showed me dancing moves and even sang me the ABC's. It was great to catch up!

I have watched him grown up through pictures on Face book, what would we do with out Facebook! ;-) He brought his mommy, auntie, and grandma so they were able to get LOTS of smiles out of him. I am pretty sure after his session he may have needed some time with the guys! he he

Happy Easter!

The week leading up to Easter our family has been talking a lot about the Easter story. The boys have made art projects, sang many songs, and even had an Easter party at school. One afternoon Brenden and Macs were painting while I was cooking dinner, when I turned back around to see how they were doing, Brenden had this painted (see below). I was amazed and overjoyed! The cross and what Jesus did for us on that day really has meaning to him, and more importantly he understands that Jesus did die for our sins, then rose from the dead and lives as our Savior and Lord. He is Risen!

I wish everyone a blessed Easter!

1. Hockey Puck Soap-How fun are these little hockey puck soaps!?! I thought they were especially appropriate being we are in the middle of Stanley Cup play offs. Too bad my husband wasn't hit by one of these lovely hockey pucks instead of the real thing, he may not have needed the 5 stitches. Here is a little about the company Maple Creek Soapsworks:

2. Mega French Press- I didn't make that up, it really is called the MEGA French Press. Once you go French Press, you will never go back. It is so delicious! We don't even know how to use a regular, drip coffee machine. So we are always on the search for the perfect coffee press, because the one we had before only makes 4 cups (well 2 Derek size coffee cups) and didn't keep it warm for very long. The MEGA Press however is made of double-walled 18/10 stainless steel, it retains heat four times longer than glass presses. It also is said to deliver a richer, more flavorful brew. I found it on the Dean & Deluca website, which on its own is a serious obsession. :-)

3. Marabelle green dress - Pink Chicken has some or the cutest girls summer dresses and diaper covers. I do have to apologize for all you out there with just boys, I have been posting mostly girls gear. I'll do my best next week to find some cute boys wear!!! Any who...when I came across the Pink Chicken website I was excited to find out their flagship store is in Amagansette, NY which is where I spent part of a summer when I nannied for a fabulous family. I think I will get a few of the diaper covers to keep in the studio...I can't wait to photograph a baby girl in one.

So I got to go and see one of my best friends and her baby, I COULD NOT handle how cute she was. She was so perfect, and I know I said that one million times, BUT really she was! She basically did everything we told her to do. Also to reiterate her perfectness...she made a trip to the galleria and lunch with the girls and slept the entire time, not a peep!

It was also such a joy to see my friend as a mom! B is so blessed to have such a loving, caring mommy and daddy and an extended family that absolutely adores her.

I love you guys and am SO excited for you and your sweet little nugget. ;-)

Little A brought her family over for some 6 month pics. She has grown up so quickly, and I am positive she could be the next Baby Gap model or the future face for Gerber! She is beautiful! It was such fun to have them over.

The last session we did E and I had such a blast playing with my camera, so this time she brought hers too. I think I'll be hiring her as my assistant. :-)
